PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description
In this mime, a boy discovers early in life what others think of him. His friends don't let him play with them-he doesn't "measure up." They show this graphically by pulling out measuring tapes and laughing as they shake their heads and leave their tapes around his neck. When he goes home as a teenager, his family has their measuring tapes too, and intimidate him with them. He enters adulthood with his failed attempts at measuring up still around his neck. Even in business, he can't seem to keep up with peers who make it clear that he doesn't measure up. Finally he is ready to hang himself with the tapes he's collected over the years, but God breaks through. God tells him that someone else has already measured up for him-Jesus died so he wouldn't have to keep trying to make the grade. At God's behest, the man shreds the tape measures that have choked him his whole life, and gratefully begins the relationship God has initiated.Topics: GOD'S ACCEPTANCE OF US, SELF-ESTEEMCharacters: 2 MALES, 1 FEMALE, 1 OTHER MALE OR FEMALEParticipants: 4Author: Mark Demel, Judson Poling
