Author of many books for children, Shirley Climo has explored international variations of the Cinderella myth in her popular and carefully researched books The Irish Cinderlad, illustrated by Loretta Krupinski, The Korean Cinderella, and The Egyptian Cinderella, both illustrated by Ruth Heller.
