The book compromises three main sections. First, the nutrition of fish is examined from the standpoint of the environmental influences on feeding and growth requirements. The second section considers physiological energetics in which each component of the energy balance equation is discussed in some detail. The final section of the book is a discussion of the environmental tolerances and preferences of fish species.

This book looks in detail at the relationship of fish to the food they eat, their growth and responses to the environment. The book will be of interest to a wide range of fish biologists (including upper level students), particularly those involved with aquaculture, fish feed and the environment.
