Dr Carl H. Schultz is an internationally recognized expert and researcher in the field of Disaster and Emergency Medicine. He has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and his investigations have resulted in two first-author publications in the New England Journal of Medicine. He chairs the Disaster Preparedness and Response Committee for the American College of Emergency Physicians and has served as a consultant for the U.S. Department of Defense, the Joint Commission, and the State of Israel. Dr Schultz has faculty appointments at universities in Belgium and Italy. He is a professor of emergency medicine and Director of Disaster Medical Services at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.

Dr Kristi L. Koenig is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of Homeland Security, Disaster and Emergency Medicine, Emergency Management, and Emergency Medical Services. She is widely published and sought internationally for lecture-presentations and has a strong academic and health policy background. She has been an invited consultant to the Joint Commission, Federal Emergency Management Agency, State of California, and Government of Taiwan. She is Senior Health Policy Advisor for the Institute for Global and Regional Readiness in Washington, DC and Consultant to the American Medical Association on Core Disaster Life Support. She serves as the Director of Public Health Preparedness for the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
