He chairs the Disaster Preparedness and Response Committee for the American College of Emergency Physicians and has served as a consultant for the U.S. Department of Defense, the Joint Commission, and the State of Israel. Dr Schultz has faculty appointments at universities in Belgium and Italy. He is a professor of emergency medicine and Director of Disaster Medical Services at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
