Leslie LaRue Rye, a writer, and her husband, Sidney, a former FBI agent, now a private detective, find themselves involved in a mystery concerning friends who attend the prayer meetings on Sunday mornings in their home in the Garden District outside of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Leslie's involvement in the circumstances surrounding the mystery ignites her writer's curiosity, ultimately putting her in jeopardy while Sidney's investigation puts him in danger. Their close friend and prominent New Orleans attorney, Annabelle Robicheaux, is torn between pursuing a love interest that could cause a conflict of interest by the courts, and representing an embezzler knowing she is possibly the only one that can free him. This story takes us behind bars in the Orleans Parish City Jail where the accused, a member of a prominent New Orleans family, finds solace in studying God's word that brings him peace and understanding of scripture for the first time in his life and gives him the strength and courage to face what lies ahead. As the story evolves, it takes an unexpected turn.
