History is a Part of Me: A Hip-Hop Poem of African American Inventors. Its boisterous voice teaches children about ten highlighted inventions by African Americans who figured out ways to help society live more conveniently like Garret A Morgan, Fred Jones, Madam CJ Walker, and David Crosthwait, Jr. With an activity page, crossword puzzle, and quiz, this lesson is not only fun and interactive for young readers, but it's a great tool for teaching Black History and is also inclusive of the Common Core standards of comprehension/recall and creative writing.
