Wambu was born in Nigeria and arrives in Britain in 1970 following the Biafran Civil War. A respected journalist, he edited the leading Black British newspaper, The Voice, and - as a host, director, and producer - has numerous radio shows and television documentaries to his credit. Wambu left the U.K. in 1999 to work with Blackside, Inc., Boston, the leading African-American documentary filmmakers. Wambu is directing and producing a television documentary about Africa, Hopes on the Horizon, for release in 2001.
