David L. Hudson Jr. is a First Amendment Scholar with the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University. He teaches First Amendment classes at the Nashville School of Law and Vanderbilt Law School. He is a First Amendment contributing editor to the American Bar Association's Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases. He is the author or co-author of more than thirty-five books, including "Let the Students Speak! A History of the Fight for Free Expression in American Schools "(2011);"The Encyclopedia of the First Amendment" (2009);"The Handy Supreme Court Answer Book "(2008); and "The Rehnquist Court: Understanding Its Impact and Legacy "(2006).
