Habib Chaudhury, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Aging and the Built Environment in the Department of Gerontology at the Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada. He holds a PhD in Architecture/Environment-Behavior Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He was a Fellow in the Institute on Aging and Environment at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Chaudhury's research interests include design and planning of housing and community for older adults, place-therapy for persons with dementia, self in dementia, design for people with dementia, and health care environments and design for active living in older adults. He has conducted qualitative research with persons with dementia, family members, and formal caregivers exploring the potential of "home" as a resource in a person-centered care approach. Dr. Chaudhury is also affiliated as a qualified health researcher with the Center for Research on Personhood in Dementia at the University of British Columbia.
