Homer's Iliad and Odyssey and Vergil's Aeneid not only make up the core of ancient Greek and Roman literature but also serve as the centerpiece of the classical tradition upon which Westen culture is based. This bibliography is directed toward the first-time reader of the classical epics in English translation. The annotations are designed to help the high school and college student find a path through the material written about Homer and Virgil.
