Author: Brook, Itzhak
ITZHAK BROOK, MD, MSc, is a Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington DC. He is also an Attending Physician in Pediatrics at the Georgetown University Medical Center and the past Chairman of the Anti-infective Drug Advisory Committee of the FDA. Dr. Brook is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Society for Pediatric Research, and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, apart from being a member of more than 20 professional organizations. His research interests include the pathogenesis and therapy of polymicrobial infections, including upper respiratory tract infections. Having authored more than 700 publications and 10 textbooks, Dr. Brook serves as an Assistant Editor and member of the Editorial Board of several medical journals.
