Dr. R. Venkata Rao has been a Professor and Head in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, S.V. National Institute of Technology, India since November 2006. He gained his B.Tech in 1988, his M.Tech in 1991 and his Ph.D. in 2002. Dr. Rao's research interests include: advanced manufacturing technology, CAD/CAM, CIMS, fuzzy multiple attribute decision making methods, and non-traditional optimization methods. He has published about 100 research papers and received national awards for best research work. He has been a reviewer to many national and international journals. He has authored three books: Fundamentals of Machining and Machine Tools, 1997; Metal Cutting and Machine Tools,1998; and Design and Manufacturing, 1998. The three books were published by S.K.Kataria and Sons Publishers, New Delhi, India.
