The Alameda Naval Air Museum is dedicated to preserving the rich history of NAS Alameda, and volunteers maintain exhibits and a library on three floors of the original air terminal. In addition to providing an educational experience about the air station for visitors and students, the museum is a resource for information and research on naval aviation in the Pacific. Author William T. Larkins is an internationally known aviation photographer, the author of eight books, and the 2006 recipient of the Admiral Arthur W. Radford Award for excellence in Naval Aviation History and Literature. As a 79-year resident of the area, he has assembled a unique collection of photographs and information.
