Gli Orazi e i Curiazi is a tragic opera in three acts by Domenico Cimarosa to a libretto by Antonio Simeone Sografi, first performed in Venice in 1796. Based on Roman legend, the opera recounts the story of the Horatii and Curiatii brothers, who are chosen to fight each other to resolve a conflict between Rome and Alba Longa. The opera is noted for its dramatic intensity and beautiful arias. This edition presents the original French libretto.
