JACK AND THE BEANSTALK. (My favourite illustrated classics )
Bedtime junior short fairy tales for children: giant and magic beans Once upon a time, there lived a little boy with his mother in a small wooden shack beside the forest, they were very poor, their only earning was from the milk they get from their old cow, which Jack would sell in the market every evening. One day Jack saw his mother sitting despair, "Our cow is not producing any milk anymore, it's too old. We will have to sell it in the market, we can afford food with that money for a while. Go and sell it in the market" She sighed. "Yes mother." said Jack and he towed the cow to the market. On the midway he saw an old man. He inquired Jack where is he headed to. Jack said he is going to the market to sell the cow. "Give me the cow I will give you five magic beans in exchange." old man said. "Ha! five beans for a cow?" says Jack indignantly. "These are not some ordinary beans, these are magic beans, it will bring you fortune." he says unclenching his palm, showing five huge beans in his gnarly hand.
Jack agreed and gave the cow to the old man and took the magic beans with him. Jacks' mother was furious to see the beans as the price of the cow. She flung it out of the window and send jack to the attic furiously. Next morning as Jack looked outside the window he was astonished to see the beans grew over the roof. He clambered through the beanstalk and reached the sky, there he saw a castle on the fluffy clouds.
