Abraham the Father of Faith
| AUTHOR | Barbera, Domenico |

| PRODUCT TYPE | Paperback (Paperback) |
Description
braham's story is not the simple tale of a character of antiquity that the Bible famously presents as the father of a people; that is the Jews. Because if this is true, in the sense that it can not be disputed according to what the Bible claims, it is also true that Abraham is not only acknowledged as the father of the Jews, but also the father of faith, since the New Testament recognizes him as such. The purpose of our contribution is not only to talk about this, but mainly to highlight the characteristics that Abraham possessed that from the point of view of faith, make him famous, not only among Jews, but also in the midst of Christianity. In fact, when Christianity speaks about Abraham and holds him up as an example of faith, it does so primarily on the basis of the characteristics that he showed in believing God and having faith in Him; believing all that God said and the promises He gave him. These are the essential elements that this man of antiquity demonstrated in his time, making him famous in this aspect of life, which Christianity does not hesitate to define as Christian character, supported especially by the testimony that Jesus Himself gave when talking about him; identifying him as an example and model to the religious Jews who constantly challenged Him.Abraham's appearances in Scripture are numerous, both in the texts of the Old and New Testaments. They are distributed as follows; 69 times he is called Abram and 258 times, Abraham in the Old Testament. In the book of Genesis alone, Abraham's name occurs 138 times. In the New Testament, the name of Abraham appears 79 times, for a total of 327 in both Testaments.
