Nick Clough is leader of the Primary Undergraduate Programme at the Faculty of Education, University of the West of England, Bristol. Both editors are lecturers in education, having formerly taught in primary schools. They are participants in a European development programme focusing on citizenship education in Europe, and are co-ordinating a new project to help school mentors work with student teachers on aspects of citizenship an development education. Cathie Holden is leader of the Primary Postgraduate Programme at the School of Education, University of Exeter.
