Description
Autobiographical Traces In The Existing Documents Of The Gospels is a book written by G. R. S. Mead, which explores the possible autobiographical elements present in the four canonical Gospels of the New Testament. Mead, a scholar of early Christianity and a member of the Theosophical Society, argues that the Gospels contain hidden clues and hints about the authors' personal experiences and beliefs, which can be uncovered through careful analysis of the text and comparison with other ancient sources. The book examines various passages and themes in the Gospels, such as the birth narratives, the crucifixion and resurrection, and the teachings of Jesus, and suggests ways in which these may reflect the authors' own perspectives and backgrounds. Mead also draws on his knowledge of esoteric traditions and mystical philosophy to offer alternative interpretations of the Gospel stories, highlighting their spiritual and symbolic significance. Overall, Autobiographical Traces In The Existing Documents Of The Gospels is a thought-provoking and insightful exploration of the hidden dimensions of one of the most influential texts in Western civilization.THIS 30 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Gospels and the Gospel, by G. Author:
Mead, G. R. S.
G. R. S. Mead is regarded as a pioneer in the field of Gnostic and Hermetic studies. A highly intuitive scholar, Mead joined the company of Madame Blavatsky and her close associates. In this circle, he learned the profound mysteries of the Gnostics and became a translator of these writings. Mead evidently suffered some scholarly prejudice because of his connections with Theosophy. However, he also visited with C. G. Jung during his last years, and Jung thanked him for his dedicated work, his outstanding use of the English language, and for his affinity toward the experience of Gnosis.
