Description
""Everybody's Business Is Nobody's Business"" is a satirical essay written by the famous English author, Daniel Defoe. The essay was first published in 1725 and is a scathing critique of the society and culture of the time. Defoe argues that people are too concerned with the affairs of others and neglect their own responsibilities. He uses humor and irony to illustrate his point, and his observations are still relevant today. The essay is divided into three parts, each focusing on a different aspect of society. In the first part, Defoe discusses the gossip and rumors that dominate conversation, and how they distract people from their own lives. The second part deals with the lack of accountability in business and government, and the third part examines the hypocrisy of religious leaders. Defoe's essay is a timeless commentary on human nature and the dangers of neglecting one's own responsibilities.Again, if your maid shall maintain one, two, or more persons from your table, whether they are her poor relations, countryfolk, servants out of place, shoe-cleaners, charwomen, porters, or any other of her menial servants, who do her ladyship's drudgery and go of her errands, you must not complain at your expense, or ask what has become of such a thing, or such a thing. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
