Gail Smith, MA, RHIA, CCS-P, is president of Gail I. Smith Consulting, LLC, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Previously she served as an associate professor and director of the Health Information Management program at the University of Cincinnati. She is an approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer and a member of the faculty for AHIMA's (American Health Information Management Association) ICD-10-CM/PCS Academy. Her consulting projects include developing content for courses/workshops, instructional design, delivering presentations/workshops, performing coding reviews, and mapping ICD-10-CM/PCS for database conversions. The author of several coding textbooks, she is also a national speaker and content expert on eLearning and instructional design. She received her bachelor's degree in HIM from The Ohio State University and her master's degree in education from The College of Mt. St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio.
