This book contains easy-to-read retellings of Christopher Marlowe's THE MASSACRE AT PARIS and DIDO, QUEEN OF CARTHAGE. Reading these retellings first will make reading the original plays much easier. In these retellings, as in all my retellings, I have tried to make the work of literature accessible to modern readers who may lack some of the knowledge about mythology, religion, and history that the literary work's contemporary audience had.
