The time is the late 1960s, a time of great change for Africans around the world, from the Americas to the Motherland of Africa itself. Everyone is rising against European Colonialism. Bilal Olafemi is a tall, handsome young Nigerian Muslim scholar enrolled at the University of Timbuktu. The City of Timbuktu, Mali, has long fascinated Muslim scholars and other folks from around the world. What Bilal doesn't know is that the fabled city is home to a sizable population of Nonhumans. That's right, the most formidable beings and creatures from various Mythologies are real and hide in plain sight in Timbuktu. Bilal soon discovers that Lady Noor, the gorgeous Arabian courtesan whom he frequents, is actually one of the immortal Djinn. Noor warns Bilal about the Vampires of Timbuktu, the one breed of Nonhuman that can never be trusted. Bilal has his work cut out for him as he tries to protect his wayward buddy Mustafa and the people of Timbuktu from the Vampire invasion. The Order of the Scimitar, an ancient alliance of human soldiers and Nonhuman warriors, descends upon Timbuktu to clean up the Undead infestation, but they just might be worse than the Vampires themselves...
