Worthington is a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Australian National University. He is an electronic business consultant, author and information technology professional. In 1999 he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society for his contribution to the development of public Internet policy. He was an expert witness on web accessibility for the successful case in the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission against the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.
