I smile at people and yet they do not smile back. I speak to people and yet they do not speak back. I hear the conversations of people and yet they hear nothing of me. I simply do not exist in their world. They do not see me. They do not hear me. They do not fear me. And yet, they should. I never meant for any of this to happen. I'm not a monster, after all. But that doesn't mean I won't stop at nothing to hide my secret or to feel as though I belong. And to think, all of this could have been avoided. All it took was for someone to say they wanted me.
