It is my hope that as you read the stories and thoughts contained in these poems you will find that you are reading about yourself. If you love animals, and especially dogs, you will share my stories of love and treasured memories with them. I have tried to fill this book with an appreciation of life, our environment and the responsibility we all share for the future. You will revisit and hopefully relive many of your childhood times. Most will bring a smile to your face while a few may cause a lump in your throat. You will feel the weather and the emotions it brings as it changes through the seasons. You will share the coming of the night and the miracle of first light driving it away. You will find poems about nature and the plants, animals and creatures that constitute it. You will read about rural life on a farm in times long gone by as well as now.
