Le premier entraînement des Ricochons ne se passe tout à fait comme prévu: Charlie n'est pas là pour garder les buts... et tour à tour, Tess, Kevin et Caroline découvrent que ce n'est pas si facile d'être gardien de but.

Quand Charlie s'absente du premier match, les choses vont de mal en pis! Les Ricochons doivent déclarer forfait, et selon la rumeur qui court, Charlie ferait maintenant partie d'une autre équipe...

Toutefois, lorsque Brady découvre la véritable raison de l'absence de Charlie, les Ricochons se rassemblent pour encourager leur gardien qui participe à la finale... d'un concours d'orthographe!

The Icehogs' first practice doesn't go very well. Chester is a no-show to mind the net and in turn, Tes, Kev and Caroline discover that being a goalie isn't easy. Things go from bad to worse when Chester doesn't show up for the first game... There is even talk of Chester playing for another team!

When Brady discovers the real reason for Chester's spotty attendance, the Icehogs rally around their goalie and cheer him on as he competes -- at the Spelling Bee finals.
