Out of nowhere, an airplane slams into the tower, and a nightmare of terror and confusion ensues. On the same day in Afghanistan eighteen years later, a battle erupts in eleven-year-old Reshmina's war-torn village. She encounters a wounded American soldier and is called to make a tough decision.
