Ibn Taymiyyah has always been a subject of debate and hostility. His supporters saw him as a hero who fought against innovations and revived the Sunnah. His opponents saw him as someone who went astray and beyond the Sunnah. His ijtihads on some jurisprudential issues, such as visiting graves and divorce, attracted great attention, and therefore he was subjected to heavy criticism. His approach to logic and philosophy was also criticized. It is, thus, important to study him and his approach to the Quran.
