Susan Stryker earned her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and currently teaches at Harvard University. She has served as Executive Director of the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco. She won a Lambda Literary Award for co-editing The Transgender Studies Reader and an Emmy Award for co-directing the documentary Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton's Cafeteria.
