Susan James is a Computer Systems Engineer at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley, where she manages Unix Systems for scientists who are performing scientific research. She also builds and maintains high performance technical computers for scientists who are doing scientific computing. Her career work includes part-time teaching in information science at various college computer labs. She holds a bachelor's degree in health science and a master's degree in public health. Her recent degrees include an A.S. in accounting, information science, and network administration. She is a Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) and a Certified Microsoft Professional (CMP). She continues to pursue her studies in computer science a the University of California, Berkeley.
