The common meaning of the word Upanishad is 'Sit Nearby a Scholar' to gain knowledge and wisdom. There is a very beautiful and esoteric dialogues between many sages and their disciples in the Upanishads. The essence of knowledge and discussions of sages written in Sanskrit are connected with the nature and relationship between Higher Soul (Parmatma) and Lower Soul (Jeevatma). Upanishads are the invaluable heritage of our Indian civilization.

This knowledge is so vast that even the height of billions of mountains cannot be compared. This knowledge is so deep that even the depths of billions of ocean cannot be compared. It is the power gained by the Upanishads through which a person can face his life-struggle with patience and courage.
