E. Valliyappan Ulakanathan Chidambaram Pillai (September 5, 1872 - November 18, 1936) was an Indian freedom fighter. Founder of the first domestic Indian shipping company to compete with British ships.

He was stripped of his degree as a lawyer and imprisoned because of his fierce opposition to the British. After his release from prison, he lived a life of poverty. But because he did not repay his debts, he lived in poverty until the end of his life. He breathed his last on November 18, 1936 at the Indian National Congress office in Thoothukudi.
