The evil nature of jealousy

We must remember that even though we have all the good qualities, the evil quality of jealousy can lead to the wrath of the Lord and prevent us from receiving His grace.

Luther says jealousy is welcome if it stimulates the desire to honestly outdo others

Usually someone who has the habit of lying will have other bad qualities because of it. Like a lie, jealousy, along with other evil traits, inhabits one.

It is the grace of God to give one or more of one's wealth, beauty, education, fame, knowledge, etc. This causes others to be jealous of him.
