Brooke earned a BA in English and editing from Brigham Young University. Academically, Brooke's studies focused on film adaptation and fairy tales, and she presented her research at the 2013 PCA/ACA National Conference in Washington, DC. Brooke previously wrote for "Stowaway", a travel magazine, and worked on staff as an editor and senior designer.
