The history of Tamil Nadu Muslims, a section of Indian society, is ancient. This history dates back to the end of the seventh century when Arab Islamic merchants landed in many parts of our lower coast. Along with them the clergy and theologians are the heroes of this history. Their selfless philanthropy and pure life and other peaceful practices have helped Islam to flourish in Tamil soil and have been instrumental in bringing new light and rise to the fields of politics, art, culture and literature in Tamil Nadu. A systematic study of this new impact on a historical basis is a very useful task. To this end, our Foundation's Islamic Art, Culture and Research Center announced the theme of the competition for the best Tamil books of 1988, ""Muslims and Tamil"". Many writers eagerly submitted their dissertations and participated in this competition. The best of them is Dr. S. Ramanathapuram. M. Kamal chose their synopsis.
