This book provides fundamental principles of water treatment in the oil and gas industry in a simple and intuitive way. Water treatment for onshore conventional, shale, other unconventional applications, and offshore facilities is described. Explanations are given which emphasize the chemical, physical, and mechanical mechanisms of produced water treatment. Equipment and processes design and operation is described in detail. The material presented was originally developed for an SPE course of the same title.
