Actinic Keratses(AKs) are commom skin lesions that signal an increasesd risk of developing Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and other skin canncers.
They are caused mostly by excessive UV exposure.The intravenous and topical modes of administration for 5 fluorouracil are
available; however, in this investigation, the topical route was the emphasis. Because of the
skin's generally impermeable nature and barrier qualities, developing topical therapeutic
techniques is difficult. The stratum corneum, the skin's outermost layer, is lipophilic,
preventing hydrophilic medicines like 5 fluorouracil from penetrating the skin.
