his Soul called out to him

"I have dwelt with thee for all these years"

"and I have been thy servant"

"Don't send me away from thee"

"what evil have I done thee?"

And the young Fisherman laughed

"Thou has done me no evil"

"but I have no need of thee"

"The world is wide"

"there is Heaven and Hell in this life"

"and there a dim twilight between them"

"Go wherever thou wilt, but trouble me not"

"because my love is calling to me"

His Soul besought him piteously

but the young Fishmerman heeded it not
