Compiled by: Webb, Brian
Brian Webb is the artistic producer of the Canadian Dance Festival, the artistic director of the Brian Webb Dance Company and the chair of the dance program at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta. He centres his practice in these three areas through the act of dancing. His creations are interdisciplinary in nature, combining movement and written and visual texts in a contemporary telling of the body. He believes that art emerges from the community, for the community and is consequently interested in how contemporary dance places itself within Canadian culture.
