White, Gary L.
Originally a humanities major, White decided to switch to journalism at the University of Florida. He worked as a copyeditor and/or reporter at three Florida newspapers, Florida Today (in Melbourne), The Daily Commercial (in Leesburg) and the Gainesville Sun, before joining the staff of The Ledger (in Lakeland) in 2002 as a feature writer with a focus on health and fitness.
