Barry Clifford is an undersea explorer who discovered and excavated the Whydah, the first pirate shipwreck ever authenticated, off the coast of Cape Cod. He established the Expedition Whydah Sea Lab and Learning Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where he also owns and operates a pirate museum.

He has been researching, writing, and photographing the lighthouses of New England since the mid-1980 s. Jeremy has written more than 300 magazine articles, in publications including Lighthouse Digest and The Keepers Log, and he is the author of the lighthouse entry in The World Book Encyclopedia. His photos have been published in many magazines, including Soundings, Offshore, and Captain s Guide.
