In July 2025, catastrophic flash floods swept through Central Texas, including Kerr County and Camp Mystic along the Guadalupe River. Within 45 minutes, the river rose over 25 feet, carrying away cabins, families, and entire lives. As of this book's release, at least 120 people are confirmed dead, with more than 170 still missing. The loss is beyond words.

The Original Witness is a poetic tribute to those taken-and to those left behind. Inspired by both science and spirit, this reflection honors the power of water and the depth of grief it leaves behind.

In the Wake of the Waters, We Remember Together

According to Genesis 1:2, "The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." Water was already present on the very first day of creation. And science tells us it has never left. Water molecules cannot be created or destroyed by natural means. The tears we cry today are made of the same water that has passed through ancient oceans, fallen from prehistoric skies, and washed the faces of countless others before us. Though water holds no memory, it has been present for every joy, every sorrow, every beginning, and every loss-washed again and again through the sands of time.

This book is not an explanation. It is a quiet offering of remembrance. It speaks for those who have no words, and flows gently toward those still grieving.
