Description
This book is an intimate collection of Ms Baby Basu Gupta's reflections in stories steeped in the powerful tales of living. The author here uses her insight to reveal the glimpses of lives of women of different age groups mostly set in contemporary Bengali society. Her style is simple, spontaneous and revealing. This book is, no doubt, an enjoyable read, and a thoughtful gift. Raised in an idyllic town, Chandannagar, in the greater Kolkata area, the author gathered materials for her writings based on her wide exposure to people from various walks of life both in India and abroad. She finished her higher studies in Economics and Geography. She worked in a Government of India undertaking organisation and travelled abroad to different countries under UNDP fellowships. Later she took voluntary retirement. Since then, she has engaged herself in teaching students at the school and university levels. She is also involved in various social activities related to environment awareness. Apart from her regular writings on environmental issues in a quarterly magazine, she publishes her poems and short stories in local publications.
