English summary: For the first time after more than five decades of bilateral dialogue between Orthodox and Protestant Churches both sides are dealing with the role and the understanding of images in the spiritual life of both churches. The contributions contained in this volume do not only ask for the biblical foundations and the liturgical contexts of the images but also face the challenge to explain the meaning of Christian images to the secular world. German description: Erstmals in der Geschichte ihrer seit uber funf Jahrzehnten gefuhrten bilateralen Dialoge zwischen Orthodoxie und Protestantismus behandeln beide Delegationen die Rolle und das Verstandnis der Bilder in der Frommigkeit beider Kirchen.
