Description
Klaus-Jurgen Sembach is one of the most prolific and idiosyncratic exhibition designers in contemporary Germany. Trained as an architect he began working in museums in the 1960s. Working as a freelancer in his later career, his style is characterized by the precise arrangement of objects and the delicate use of often strong colors, which enable visitors to intuitively follow distinct guiding paths. He has worked for a variety of museums in Germany and specialized on large-scale shows with historical content, including "Hitler and the Germans" for the German Historical Museum in Berlin in 2010. This comprehensive publication on occasion of Sembach's 80th birthday presents his most important works with an abundance of colored illustrations and a variety of comments by leading museum directors and scholars.
