AVIFAUNA OF THE MID-VOLGA REGION The monograph generalizes results of long-term researches of the ecology of anthropogenic- transformed territories of the mid-Volga Region. Results of studying of avifauna at the territory of ten subjects of the Russian Federation contain mechanisms of birds' sinantropization in the conditions of active economic activities. The analysis of an extensive actual material has allowed to reveal the basic laws of formation of sinantropic avifauna of anthropogenic-transformed ecosystems. The basic stages of modern avifauna formation of the mid-Volga Region and features of bird adaptations to the antropogenic-transformed territories are considered. For the first time here is presented the typology of urban settlements of the mid-Volga Region and classification of anthropogenous biotopes. The monograph is of high interest for ornithologists, ecologists, and also for regional specialists, school teachers and students of faculties of natural science.
