Study in urbanization is one of the most dynamic sub-field of urban studies. Especially, for a developing country like India which for the last few decades witnessed rapid growth of urban population. This growth of urban population in India has not been uniformally distributed resulting in an imbalance in its urban structure. This imbalance in urban structure has also started to affect the growth trajectory of individual states as urbanization and economic development are highly co-related.
