PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description
Two simple, fast, accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric methods are described for the determination of Lisinopril and Tranexamic acid in pharmaceutical preparations. The first method is based on the reaction of ninhydrin with primary amine present in Lisinopril in the presence of DMF solvent. The reaction produces a bluish green color, which absorbs maximally at 600 nm. Beer's law was obeyed in the concentration range of 10-150 g/ml with molar absorptivity of 4.083 x 103 Lmole-1cm-1 While second method is based on the reaction of ninhydrin with primary amine of Tranexamic acid in the basic medium at pH.8.The reaction produces a blue color which absorb maximally at 565 nm. Beer's law was obeyed in the concentration range of 3-40 g/ml with molar absorptivity of 5.093 x 103 Lmole-1cm-1.The effects of variables such as temperature, heating time, reagent concentration and stability of color were investigated to optimize the procedures. The results are valid statistically. The proposed methods have been applied to determine lisinopril and tranexamic acid in pharmaceutical preparations with good results."
