Cementation Factor Relationships to Carbonate Rock Properties

AUTHOR Samsuri Ariffin; Kadhim Fadhil
PUBLISHER LAP Lambert Academic Publishing (01/11/2016)
PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description
The cementation factor (m) has specific effects on petrophysical and elastic properties of porous media. A comprehensive investigation of carbonate rock properties that have an interlock with the cementation factor are covered through core analysis and well log data. Because of the wide variation of carbonate reservoirs properties, the formation evaluation of these reservoirs is necessary for predicting their behaviour. Cementation factor is one of the most important Archie's formula parameters because the accurate determination of it should improve the water saturation value and consequently oil in place calculation. Due to the complexity and highly nonlinearity of carbonate reservoirs, the artificial neural network platform has been used to establish new correlations between cementation factor and carbonate rock properties
