Description
The aim of this book to describe the extraction of phenolic compounds from different extracts of medicinal plants by using different extraction techniques and quantification methods. The phenolic compounds are well known phytochemicals found in all plants and these are responsible for antioxidant activity. Phenolic compounds are classified as simple phenols or poly phenols based on the number of phenol units in the molecule. Bio Chemical methods are used to detect the presences of phenol while different techniques like soxhlet extraction, micro wave-assisted extraction, and ultra sound-assisted extraction and quantifaction methods like spectrophotometric, high pressure liquid chromatography, gas chromatography methodologies are utilized in plant based products.
